Rules and Regulations

Rule: 1. All stock and articles exhibited must be the property of the person or persons in whose name they are entered; and no animal or article will be allowed to exhibit or take a prize in more than one class, except horses in special classes, and where specified, or boy's and girl's exhibits which will be allowed by paying an entry fee.
Rule: 2. All exhibitors, if required, must make affidavit as to the age and ownership of the animal or article exhibited.
Rule: 3. No animal shall be exhibited in more than one class, except those shown for Special Prizes.
Rule: 4. The Directors in charge of the horse classes may advise exhibitors to compete in the class in which the horse properly belongs; and are also authorized to amend such entries at the request of the exhibitor.
Rule: 5. Aged ewes must have been suckling lambs up to the 1st of June.
Rule: 6. Samples of grain must consist of at least ˝ bushel each, and grain, roots, vegetables and fruit must have been grown during the present year on the farm or plot of the exhibitor.
Rule: 7. Produce and other exhibits must be on the grounds, in the Puslinch Community Centre and Sheds before 5:00 pm Friday, and livestock to be exhibited must be on the grounds no later than 10:00 am Saturday. No article or livestock will be allowed to be removed from the grounds until 4:30 pm Saturday.
Rule: 8. The secretary will be at the Puslinch Community Centre from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday to receive entries. Anyone wishing blank entry tags, extra entry forms or extra Small Fry Colouring Contest Forms should telephone the Secretary/Treasurer and they will be mailed or may be picked up.
Rule: 9. Livestock Judges will be expected to report to their Committees by 11:00 am on Saturday morning. Sheep Judge by 10:30 am. Livestock committees determine the time of reporting.
Rule: 10. All entries of articles, grain, roots, vegetables, fruit, livestock or other items intended for exhibit and or competition must be entered on the Entry Form provided in the book, or a photostatic copy of same, and the form signed by the exhibitor. Entry forms must be filed with the secretary or the committee chairperson before the judging begins. Except in Livestock classes, you may not enter more than one entry per Section, and no entry may compete in more than one Section.
Rule: 11. No person shall be awarded more than one prize in any section. In livestock, two prizes may be taken, but three or more animals may be shown.
Rule: 12. Exhibitors interfering in any way with the Judges while they are performing their duties shall forfeit their right to any prize to which they may otherwise be entitled.
Rule: 13. Any infringement of the Rules and Regulations by an exhibitor will result in withholding of any prize money to which they are entitled, as determined by the Board of Directors.
Rule: 14. The Board of Directors shall be at liberty, for cause or at their discretion, to bar any exhibitor, any animal, or any exhibit from competing in or continuing to participate or compete in any event, and may also require, any such exhibitor, animal or exhibit to be removed from the grounds or buildings occupied by the Aberfoyle Agricultural Society.
Rule: 15. Protests must be presented to the Secretary on the day of the Fall Fair with a deposit of $10.00 to receive consideration by the Board of Directors.
Rule: 16. All articles retained for the prize donor, must be picked up by the prize donor (or authorized representative) at the Puslinch Community Centre by 4:30 pm on Fair Saturday.
Rule: 17. The Board of Directors requests that all items donated as prizes be picked up by the winner before December 15.
Rule: 18. All donations of money, goods and/or articles given as prizes or prizes over the value of $30.00 shall entitle the donor to one complimentary pass to the Fall Fair .
Rule: 19. All prize money will be paid by cheque after the Fall Fair except for those classes noted ‘Cash day of Fair’ which will be handed directly to the winners. Junior Exhibit please attend at the Fair Office after 11:00 AM the day of the Fair.
Rule: 20. A percentage of the prize money may be retained in case of deficit of receipts due to bad weather to keep the Fall Fair on a sound financial basis.
Rule: 21. A fee of 15% of all prize money $10.00 or over will be retained in lieu of the payment of entry fees. 4-H Clubs, Women's Institutes, Junior Department, Pumpkins, and Pet Show are exempt when entered in their own classes. When entering regular classes, the entry fee will be retained.
Rule: 22. A membership fee will be retained from all prize money of $25.00 and over of exhibitors in normal adult classes. 4-H Clubs, Women's Institutes, Junior Department, Pumpkins, and Pet Show are exempt when entered in their own classes
Rule: 23. Each membership in the Aberfoyle Agricultural Society includes one Fall Fair Pass which may be used Friday or Saturday.
Rule: 24. All persons entering the grounds on Friday or Saturday will pay the admission except for those with a fair pass.
Rule: 25. Parties desiring space for exhibits, concessions or vendors must apply to the Committee.
Rule: 26. All concessions must pay a contribution to the operations of the fair, as designated by the committee before operating, and the Executive has the right to screen all parties wishing concessions on the grounds, and has the power to refuse any concession. Receipts will be issued.
Rule: 27. The Aberfoyle Agricultural Society will not be held responsible for any accident or loss that may occur to any person, animal or article while participating in the Aberfoyle Fall Fair.
Rule: 28. Exhibitors must provide their own public liability insurance.
